To be a sustainable designer, one must create clothing collections with a concern for the environment at the forefront. As a designer, I have found it hard to balance the concept of creating new clothing for a world that already has far too much already. However, something that has stood out to me, was the lack of clothing made that has been built to last. We are saturated in the fashion industry with pieces that are cheaply made; no thought for the makers and no care about the conditions in which they work. This is why a Master’s in Knitwear at Nottingham Trent University, learning how to create pieces to last, is the first stepping stone for me to

launch my sustainable knitwear brand, Efil Wolsa.
